ATEN Launches the New Touch Screen LCD KVM Switch The KL3116T is ideal for industrial environments such as factory production lines, laboratories, or server rooms ATEN International, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced communications solutions, launches the new all-in-one KVM switch with a touch screen LCD monitor - KL3116T, part of the ALTUSEN™ Enterprise KVM Solutions line. The KL3116T is an integrated LCD console and KVM switch that offers secure access to 16 servers with dual USB or PS/2 interface, and mounts in only 1U of rack space.
The KL3116T is the first Dual Rail Touch Screen LCD KVMP™ Switch of its kind that requires no additional software to operate. The touch screen LCD requires no additional driver installation, and no serial port switch to operate - simply connect the IT devices for operation. The touch screen enables server operations to be managed in a quick and comfortable way, in particular where quick configuration changes are required. The KL3116T is ideal for industrial environments such as factory production lines, laboratories, or server rooms.
Dual USB or PS/2 interface provides secure access to different servers regardless of the interface. As many as 31 additional switches can be daisy-chained together, so that up to 512 servers can be controlled from a single keyboard, touch screen, and mouse console.
About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
